St. Cecilia Mass and Concert: 7/11/2007
The choristers went to the Big O to sing in the St Cecilia concert. We had been practising our songs for weeks and all our hard work was about to be worth it.
All of the choristers and the Big O boys firstly sang the mass which Father Anthony said in Latin, we then went off and had a drink and a couple of biscuits and got ready for the concert.
The whole chapel was filled; we had a harp, drums and an organ to accompany us. Our conductor was Mr McNamara, the Oratory School Head of Music.
The Big O boys and some of the Oratory Prep School choristers sang the Otcenáš (Our Father). Then we all got up on stage and got ready to sing Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, as we started to sing the whole audience went silent. We sang three psalms and at the end there was a huge applause, which made us all feel very proud and made the hard work and time practising seem worth the effort.
The concert was a great experience and I am really glad I had the opportunity to take part.
