Pupils in Year 5 – 8 are able to take part in the Saturday Morning Enrichment Programme. This is an optional Saturday morning programme that replaced the traditional compulsory Saturday School from September 2017.
The programme runs from 8.25am to 12.45pm and children are welcome to join us at 9.00am for an extra prep session, at 9.45am for the talks or 10.30am to take part in the range of activity modules on offer. All pupils stay until the end of the activities at 12.45pm. For the talks, we were lucky this term to welcome James Shone to the school who presented ‘I can, I am’ and we have also had talks on topics such as Revision Skills, Mindfulness, Growth Mindset, Nutrition and Wellbeing and How Learning is Changing in Schools.
The activity modules on offer have been designed to expand the pupils’ horizons and offer them the chance to experience activities that they may not otherwise consider. Modules on offer include Acting, Beekeeping, Biking, Charity Crafts, Command Tasks, Debating, First Aid, Indoor Rowing, Interview Practice, General Knowledge Quiz Club, Geology, Life Skills, Orienteering, Public Speaking, Philosophy and Yoga!
