Everyday Excellence: Art with Mrs Addleton
Our recent ISI inspection described the school as “a stimulating and vibrant learning community” and we’re proud to share a glimpse of what that looks like in action.
This short film is the first in our Everyday Excellence series, created to showcase the rich, purposeful teaching that takes place in our classrooms every day. In this episode we join Mrs Addleton in the Art Room, where curiosity and creativity flourish side by side.
Pupils might be exploring colour mixing, experimenting with texture or carefully refining a drawing but whatever the task, her lessons are full of quiet focus. You’ll see the kind of thoughtful teaching praised in our inspection report, where “pupils are highly motivated, have very positive attitudes to learning and work with focus and care.”
We hope this film brings to life the relationships, routines and high expectations that make learning here so special. There is great skill in teaching that feels natural. Asking the right question, knowing when to step back and helping each child find their own way through – are teachers are experts.
