Helping Children with Dyscalculia – Talk by Rob Jennings
At The Oratory Prep School, we know that for many children, maths can be a source of anxiety and frustration. While some pupils might find certain topics tricky, for others, the struggle can be more significant and persistent.
This can sometimes be due to a specific learning difficulty called dyscalculia. Dyscalculia affects an individual’s ability to understand and work with numbers. It’s not a reflection of intelligence or effort, it simply means that a child’s brain processes mathematical information differently. This can make even the most fundamental concepts, like counting or telling the time, feel incredibly challenging.
To help parents better understand and support children with dyscalculia, we are delighted to be hosting a special talk led by Rob Jennings, founder of the Dyscalculia Network on Monday 29th September at 6.30pm in our theatre.
Rob will share insight into the mind of a child with dyscalculia and offer practical strategies that you can use at home to help build confidence and support learning.
This event is free but registration is essential. Please contact admissions@oratoryprep.co.uk to book your place.
We look forward to welcoming you for what promises to be a fascinating and empowering evening.
