U12 Girls Crowned In2Hockey South Regional Champions
There was plenty to celebrate this week as our U12 girls were crowned In2Hockey South Regional Champions, competing against the strongest school teams from across Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hampshire.
From the very first match, the girls played with confidence and purpose. A convincing 5–0 win over Holme Grange set the tone for the day, followed by a well-managed 2–0 victory against Chesham Prep. Their momentum continued with a 4–1 win against Farleigh, securing a place in the semi-finals.
In the semi-final, the team delivered one of their most complete performances, beating Borlase 4–0 with a combination of sharp attacking play and disciplined defending.
That result set up a final against Farleigh, and the girls rose to the occasion once again. Playing with composure and determination, they secured a 4–1 victory to lift the title and be crowned South Regional Champions.
Across the tournament, the team scored an impressive 19 goals and conceded just two — a clear reflection of their teamwork, organisation and attacking intent.
It was also fantastic to see the strength of hockey beyond school, with seven members of the squad representing Henley Hockey Club. Their experience and enthusiasm for the game were evident throughout the day.
Director of Sport, Mr Bentley, said:
“We are thrilled with this performance. The girls played with real confidence and worked so well as a team throughout the day. It is a wonderful reflection of the strength of sport here at The Oratory Prep School.”
This is a brilliant achievement for the team and a proud moment for the whole school community.
