At The Oratory Prep School, when you join, you join as a family.
Choosing a school is about your child but it’s also about you. From your very first visit, we want parents to feel part of the community. Some of the warmest friendships at The OPS are between parents, and they often begin in the most ordinary moments: on the touchline at a match, over coffee after drop-off, or in the pool on a Tuesday morning.
That sense of belonging is one of the things families tell us they treasure most and it’s something we work hard to make real.
A programme just for parents
Every week during term time, we open our facilities and our community to you.
- Parent Swimming: take a dip in our 25-metre indoor pool on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, straight after drop-off.
- Parents’ Football: a friendly Sunday afternoon kickabout on our pitches, all abilities welcome.
- Parents’ Hockey: Sunday afternoons on the astro, whether you played at school or are picking up a stick for the first time.
- Parent Tennis: our courts are yours on Wednesdays and Fridays for tennis with Mrs Balfour.
- Parent Choir: raise your voice with new friends; no experience needed, just enthusiasm.
More than the school day
Family life at The OPS reaches well beyond lessons. We love welcoming parents, grandparents and the whole extended family to events throughout the year. From concerts and productions to fairs, quiz nights and celebrations that bring our community together. It’s all part of what makes The OPS feel less like a school you send your child to, and more like a place you belong.
Come and feel it for yourself
The warmth of our community is best experienced in person. We’d love to show you around, introduce you to our families and let you picture your own family here.
