Pre-Prep Arts

At The Oratory Prep School, we believe that the arts are essential to a child’s development. In Pre-Prep pupils take part in music, art and dance lessons every week. These lessons are taught by specialists and take place in our dedicated arts spaces. We give pupils time and space to be creative, try new things and grow in confidence.

Music

Music is a vibrant part of our school life. Our purpose-built music department includes practice rooms, a large rehearsal space filled with various instruments and a music technology room. Pupils explore different instruments and genres, compose their own pieces and perform regularly to parents and grandparents in events such as the Harvest Festival and they also take part in the annual House Music  and Dance competitions.

Drama

Drama plays a key role in building pupils’ self-assurance and creativity. From an early age, children visit our modern theatre which features a large stage, 300-seat auditorium, and advanced sound and lighting systems. Your child’s first Nativity performance will take place here. Additionally, we offer LAMDA lessons for pupils in Year 2 and above, providing further opportunities to develop their performance skills.

Dance

Pupils enjoy timetabled dance lessons in our dance studio every week. We also offer extra-curricular dance activities including Creative Ballet, Tap, Modern, Street Dance and ‘Magical Adventure’ sessions during lunchtime and after school. The Dance Showcase in the Trinity Term is not to be missed!
