2591 QS Oratory Prep 097

In the Pre-Prep department, we follow two curriculums: Early Years and Key Stage 1, which dovetail neatly together at the end of Reception year.

A typical day in the life of Pre-Prep:

8.15am Teaching staff welcome the children to the classroom for registration
8.35am The children come together for daily prayer, and a Christian appreciation of our world. This is followed by a fun, short period of exercise. There is then an assembly with a Religious or Moral focus, singing, and celebrations of achievement and perseverance.
9.00am Lessons begin. There are five teaching periods during the morning. In Reception and Years 1 and 2, English and Maths are taught in the mornings, and on some days other subjects, such as Science, Music, PE and Dance are also taught.
12.00pm Lunchtime. Tasty and nutritiously balanced home-cooked food is prepared under the guidance of the head chef. The favourites of many children are ‘Fish and Chips Friday’ and delicious cheesy pesto pasta. Nursery children who are staying all day have their lunch delivered to the Little Oaks building. Everyone else joins together in the Old Hall, where teaching staff serve and eat with the children.
1.15pm Afternoon learning begins.
3.30pm There is an end of day prayer and handover to parents for children who are going home.
3.30 – 4.00pm Snack, drink and registration in the Barn for children who are participating in the After School activity programme or staying for After School club.
4.00 – 5.00pm After School activities.
5.00 – 6.00pm After School care.
