At The Oratory Prep School, our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, provide challenge and foster a lifelong love of learning. Taught by subject specialists, pupils benefit from expert teaching across all areas of the curriculum. From exploring historical events to conducting scientific experiments, lessons are engaging, stimulating and designed to stretch and support pupils at every level.
Learning is interconnected and purposeful, with meaningful links between subjects that deepen understanding. Mathematical skills are applied in science investigations, while literature choices reflect historical periods, bringing topics to life. With a focus on both engagement and academic rigour, our pupils are consistently challenged through thought-provoking lessons and regular, thorough assessments that track progress and inform next steps.
Scholarships at The Oratory Prep School
At The Oratory Prep School, scholarships celebrate excellence, commitment, and potential. They are awarded to pupils entering Year 7, based on their performance in assessments during Year 6, with opportunities available in Academics, Art, Music and Sport.
Scholarships are about recognising and nurturing exceptional talent, with a focus on supporting each scholar’s growth, rather than providing a large financial reward. However, they do carry a small fee remission or financial award (at the Headmaster’s discretion) to help further develop the pupil’s expertise in their chosen field.
Scholarships are reviewed annually, taking into account a child’s achievement and dedication in their specialism, as well as their overall effort, attitude and behaviour.
All candidates are considered for every specialism and will be interviewed by our Director of Studies, Mrs Poppy Kane, as part of the selection process.#
