Miss Claire Knights

Claire is the Director of Studies, leading the academic provision and curriculum development across the school. With over 15 years of experience in the independent sector, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of learning in every pupil.

Originally on a path to study medicine, Claire changed direction after volunteering in South Africa and Uganda. It was during this time that she saw first-hand the transformative power of education and how crucial it is in shaping the course of a child’s life. This experience cemented her decision to pursue a career in teaching, where she could make a lasting impact.

Claire is committed to maintaining high academic standards while supporting each child as an individual. She leads on whole-school assessment, reporting, and academic tracking and works closely with teaching staff to ensure excellence in teaching and learning. Alongside her leadership responsibilities, she continues to teach English and Games both of which she delivers with enthusiasm, energy and a strong focus on pupil engagement.

Outside of school, Claire is mum to Iris, who is currently in Pre-Reception at OPS. She is an avid cook and baker, following a “one pan, one step” approach to her weeknight meals even when more is required! A lifelong Bath Rugby supporter, Claire also enjoys CrossFit and spending time outdoors, exploring with her family.
