A huge congratulations to our U12 Girls Hockey team, who triumphed at the South Central Regional Hockey Qualifiers on Friday 31st January with an outstanding performance from start to finish!
The OPS girls scored an incredible 19 goals and conceded just 2 all day, proving themselves to be a dominant force at this age group. Superb both in attack and defence the girls played extremely well together last week at the South Central Regional Hockey Competition. Facing tough opposition they defeated teams from Shiplake, Headington and Oxford High to reach the final.
This victory sees them advance to the prestigious South Central Finals to be held at Reading Hockey Club on 25th March, where they will compete against the very best teams in the region.
What makes this achievement even more exciting is the blend of talent in our squad – with half the team made up of U12 players and the other half U11, the future of OPS hockey is incredibly bright. This young squad will return in Autumn Term 2025 even stronger and ready to cement their place as one of the top prep school hockey teams in the region.
At The Oratory Prep School, we are committed to fostering a culture of sporting excellence and this latest success is yet another testament to our strong sports programme. We are immensely proud of the girls and look forward to supporting them on their journey to the South Central Finals.
