A Warm Welcome at The Oratory Prep School

“It felt like a genuine warmth exists across the school with all pupils and staff smiling, chatting and at ease.”

This was a particularly lovely piece of feedback we received recently from a family visiting The Oratory Prep School. And for us, it says so much about what makes our school special.

We know that choosing a school for your child is a big decision. For some families, it’s their first experience of independent education. For others, it’s about finding a fresh start or a school where their child will feel happier and more confident.

Whatever brings a family to us, we want them to feel welcome from the very first conversation.

Our Admissions team of Hannah Thomas and Toni Rich take great care to get to know each family, understand what matters to them and learn a little about their child before they visit. We want families to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing any concerns and taking the time they need to make the right decision.

But a warm welcome from Admissions is only the beginning.

What really matters is what happens when families walk through our doors. It’s the children who smile and say hello as they pass, the teachers who take the time to stop and chat and the sense that everyone is comfortable being themselves.

We can tell families about our small classes, our beautiful grounds and the opportunities available here, but there are some things that are much easier to experience than to explain.

The kindness of our pupils and staff is one of them.

We often say that we want every child at OPS to feel known, valued and supported to become the best version of themselves. That begins with the relationships we build and the community we create together.

So when a visiting family notices that warmth for themselves, it means a great deal to us. It’s a reflection of the whole school community and something we’re very proud of.

The best way to understand what makes OPS special is to come and experience it for yourself. We’d be delighted to welcome you for a visit.
