A Message for Our Year 8 Leavers
At the end of the Summer Term, we said goodbye to our Year 8 pupils as they left The Oratory Prep School and prepared for the next stage of their education.
Before they went, members of staff recorded a message for each of them.
The result is a very personal reflection on a group of young people we have watched grow up. Staff chose pupils to talk about, sharing the qualities they admire in them, the memories they will take away and a few words for the future.
For us, the video says a great deal about life at OPS.
We want every child here to be known. Not simply for their academic achievements, their performances on stage or what they contribute on the sports field, but for who they are. Their humour, determination, kindness, individuality and all the little things that make them themselves.
By the time our pupils reach Year 8, many have spent a significant part of their childhood at OPS. They have grown in confidence, discovered new interests, formed friendships and learned a great deal about themselves along the way.
Leaving prep school is a big moment. Our hope is that every pupil leaves us ready for their next school, confident in what they can do and with the ambition to keep aiming higher, while remaining very much themselves.
To our Year 8 leavers: thank you for everything you brought to OPS. We are enormously proud of you and look forward to hearing what you do next.
