New Head of Pre-Prep

Introducing Our New Head of Pre‑Prep, Laura Wowk

We are delighted to announce that Mrs Laura Wowk will be joining OPS as our new Head of Pre‑Prep from September 2026.

Our incoming Headmaster, Mr Will May, who also begins in September, shares his enthusiasm for this appointment:

“We are delighted to welcome Laura as our new Head of Pre-Prep. She brings a wealth of expertise, a deep understanding of both the academic curriculum and pastoral wellbeing and a dynamic vision for the future of the department. Laura’s passion for developing young learners, together with her commitment to creating a supportive and inspiring environment, will be a tremendous asset to our community. We very much look forward to the positive impact she will have on the life of the Pre-Prep and the wider school.”

A Leader with Depth, Warmth and Vision

Laura joins OPS with significant leadership experience across schools in London and Hampshire, where she has overseen both Lower School and Nursery settings. Her strong understanding of Early Years and Key Stage 1 shapes her belief in the importance of these formative stages in nurturing confident, curious and well‑prepared learners.

A passionate advocate for outdoor education, Laura champions meaningful learning both inside and outside the classroom. She believes children thrive when given the space and freedom to explore and that some of the most powerful learning happens when pupils are encouraged to be themselves.

Supporting Every Child to ‘Find Their Thing’

Laura is committed to ensuring every child has access to a rich variety of opportunities that help them discover their interests, talents and passions. Her approach is rooted in warmth, high expectations and a genuine belief in the potential of every child.

Outside school, Laura enjoys running, watching sport and spending time with her husband, their two boys, and Gilbert the dog.
